Westerfield Cabin - a great place to rest!

Cabin grand sitting room has great light, an impressive custom stone fireplace, vaulted ceiling with a magnificent chandelier next to the dining area that seats 6. These logs provide peace and comfort - it truly is a great place to sit!

The main cabin was shipped here from the east coast in 1977 by Jim and Marilyn Westerfield. The mint that Jim created (over 60 varieties!) still grows wild in our winsome garden beds.

This two-story log cabin has 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. Rustic, but with all the modern amenities, this cozy retreat is just 20 miles from the St. Louis Arch & 7 miles from Scott Air Force Base. There is a FireStick in the Jam room TV for better entertainment. The Cabin does not include the downstairs "Westerfield Kitchen Flat"; separated by a locked door, it is also available for rent.

The space

These carefully hewn pine walls stand as they have for more than 40 years - simple, sturdy, & strong. It does not get more rustic and outdoorsy, but with water, electricity, heat and AC - it is a blast from the past. Turn off your phone and enjoy this get away! (we do have wifi, if you need it)

Guest access

The Cabin is 2 stories, upstairs from the Kitchen Flat apartment that is rented separately. They are separated by a locked door, and there are no shared spaces inside. Outdoor amenities are available to all of our guests - gas grill, fire pit past the parking lot, wood deck. It is important to stay on the Cabin's side of the driveway. There is grass to enjoy next to the farmer's field.

Other details

Our little half an acre is in a quiet neighborhood with a farmer's field on two sides. It may feel secluded, but the neighbors are just across the driveway. It is important to stay on the Cabin's side of the driveway and observe our quiet hours between 10 pm and 7 am for the sake of the neighbors and other guests.

Neighborhood overview

Our little half an acre in rural Freeburg is 10 minutes from town, and has a secluded vibe in spite of the neighbors being close. The Weingarten and Eckert's Country Store, restaurant, Cider Shed and pick your own farm are just down the road. It is a quiet neighborhood.

There are two parking places provided with your Cabin rental. Please only park in your designated spaces.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was wonderful! We appreciated our time with the family in the area. The cabin allowed us to have an enjoyable time both inside and outside.
