Westerfield Guest Cottage is a cozy retreat just 20 miles from St. Louis and 7 miles from Scott AFB. This log cabin, in studio apartment style, has a private bathroom, television with Roku, microwave, mini-fridge, and top notch amenities with multiple outdoor seating options. This unique and comfortable accommodation sleeps three in the king size bed and a pull out sofa bed.
The space
This log cabin, in studio apartment style, has a private bathroom, television with Roku, microwave, mini-fridge, and top notch amenities with multiple outdoor seating options. This unique and comfortable accommodation sleeps three in the king size bed and a pull out sofa bed. We are located on half an acre with neighbors close by. There are “no trespassing” signs posted on their property and driveway, it is important to respect those signs. There is room on our property to be outside, but the closest places to go for a walk are a short drive away. With a farmer’s field on two sides, the cabins feel secluded, but it is actually a quiet and safe rural neighborhood. This rustic log cabin, complete with working custom stone fireplace, has electricity and central heat and air, but the water pressure is low. It’s amazing for a log cabin, but may be less than you are used to.

Outdoor amenities are available to all of our guests - gas grill, fire pit past the parking lot, wood deck. It is important to stay on the Cabin's side of the driveway. There is grass to enjoy next to the farmer's field.

Our little half an acre is in a quiet neighborhood with a farmer's field on two sides. It may feel secluded, but the neighbors are just across the driveway. It is important to stay on the Cabin's side of the driveway and observe our quiet hours between 10 pm and 7 am for the sake of the neighbors and other guests.

Neighborhood overview
Our little half an acre in rural Freeburg is 10 minutes from town, and has a secluded vibe in spite of the neighbors being close. The Weingarten and Eckert's Country Store, restaurant, Cider Shed and pick your own farm are just down the road. It is a quiet neighborhood.

This cozy cottage is the perfect get away. The rustic log cabin is comfortable and the property is lovely with many outdoor spaces to enjoy. The shower and bathroom is small, but everything worked great and there was plenty of hot water. Thank you to the property owners and caretakers for a lovely stay. We hope to return.

I've stayed in the Westerfield Cottage 8 times in less than 2 years, and I'll keep coming back as often as I can. It's the perfect location to unwind while still being close enough to town for the occasional food/entertainment run. The comfort and hospitality are top-notch, and exactly what keeps me coming back time and time again.
